Following the success of their previous single, female-fronted rock ensemble Exit 18 make their return with melodic rock single ‘Brace for Impact’ drawing influence from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, My Chemical Romance, and Amy Winehouse.

Consisting of Julia Perry (vocals, piano, guitar) Sean Leahy (Vocals, guitar), Dylan Perry (drums), Doug Mears (lead-guitar, vocals), and Darren Muise (bass), ‘Brace for Impact’ mirrors Exit 18’s colossal riff-infused live shows, driven by monstrous guitars and Julia’s flawless vocal melodies

Known for their energetic live shows, the ensemble began drawing in large crowds, and went from playing high school talent shows, to selling out 300 capacity venues across Boston in a matter of months. Their reputation has led to the collective being nominated for two New England Music Awards: New act of the year and Rock act of the year.

When asked about the track, Exit 18 stated: “Brace for Impact is a collection of intrusive thoughts from the perspective of a then 17-year-old who felt like she didn’t have control over her own life or even her own headspace. The song is mostly a desire for agency; escaping oneself is as discouraging as navigating the pressures and expectations of living, always but especially right now.”

‘Brace for Impact’ is the second single taken from the ensemble’s upcoming EP set to be released later this year via CD Baby.
